For more than a year, I worked as an online English tutor. I was nervous at first, but I started to enjoy the experience and opportunity to practice my English. No one from school knows about this part-time work except from a close friend who introduced me to the job. My initial goal was to save money while studying at that time. I never knew that I would like doing it until I realized I was online and skipping some social events everyday. This continued for more than a year and I was really happy about it.

PHP Short Course

I never thought that I’m going to have another training stint this semester. Two weeks ago, when everyone was almost having their hell weeks, I was asked if I’m available to teach basic PHP and MySQL for 5 days as a substitute to another trainer. I was hesitant at first because that was scheduled during our Finals Week and there was only one slot available. In addition, I wasn’t confident with my skills on PHP and MySQL. Even though I have developed a few PHP web applications for school projects, I have still a lot to learn about these technologies. I was only encouraged to take my first training stint before because my two other friends will teach as well. This time, it’s going to be a solo stint only. Despite the hesitations, I decided to accept the offer. I became excited when I knew that I’m going to teach the same class I’ve had before.
